New Jersey Box Truck Accidents
Unfortunately, North Jersey trucking accidents are extremely common. Each year, an estimated 500,000 trucking collisions are reported, resulting in nearly 5,000 deaths annually. An estimated 70% of victims in fatal semi-truck accidents are passengers of smaller cars. Recent statistics show that passenger-vehicle fatalities involving 18-wheelers have increased by 5%.
Semi-trucks cause more than their fair share of devastating vehicle collisions across the country, including right here in New Jersey. The statistics speak for themselves, and the bottom line is that trucks are extremely dangerous, especially when they collide with smaller passenger vehicles. Rig operators are required to make safety a priority, but due to intense pressures on the road, even the most skilled trucker can make a critical error that leads to a catastrophic 18-wheeler accident.
