Wayne, NJ (September 12, 2019) – Around 1:32 p.m. yesterday, September 11th, a bicycle accident took place on Black Oak Ridge Road in Wayne when a dump truck suddenly lost its tire.
The victim, identified as 53-year-old James DeSalvo, had been riding his bicycle when a tire on a dump truck suddenly blew out. The tire immediately started rolling southbound on the shoulder of the roadway until it struck DeSalvo on his bike.
DeSalvo was seriously injured and transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
Police have confirmed that no charges have been filed, but their investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
