Toms River, NJ – Man Struck in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on ParkwayNew Jersey Legal News
Toms River, NJ (February 27, 2019) – State Police responded to a fatal pedestrian accident on the Garden State Parkway when a man was killed while walking along the roadway.
The pedestrian was since identified as William Swenson, who was in a travel lane when he was struck by an SUV around 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday. He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short while later.
Police are not sure why Swenson was walking on the roadway at that time. The driver, however, stopped and cooperated with police. They have not released information on whether or not charges will be filed.
Troopers closed down two lanes of the highway while the accident was under investigation. Police continue to investigate at this time.
