Rutherford, NJ (November 23, 2019) – Six people were injured following a collision involving a boxcar in Rutherford, New Jersey. The crash took place near the corner of Route 3 and Orient Way early Friday morning, November 22nd. Authorities reported that the boxcar overturned on Orient Way at around 6:30 a.m., causing a chain reaction collision.
The boxcar driver had to be rescued from his vehicle and was taken to a nearby medical facility. Behind the boxcar was a three-vehicle collision, involving one vehicle with multiple passengers. Five occupants were taken to local hospitals for treatment of sustained injuries.
The condition of the injured parties is not known at this time. Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
