Ringwood, NJ (October 15, 2019) – Around 7:20 p.m., authorities claim that a woman injured a police officer in a DUI accident in Ringwood.
The crash took place when a 55-year-old woman from Oakland rear-ended a police cruiser at a high rate of speed. The accident was so forceful that the cruiser was totaled.
Police said that the officer was the only party injured in the accident. He was transported to a local area hospital for neck and knee injuries. The names of both parties have not been released.
The woman received charges of assault by auto and drunk driving.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing at this time.
