Brady Reilly & Cardoso LLC ANNOUNCES THE ADDITION OF JAMES C. WELSH, RETIRED SUPERVISING JUDGE OF THE WORKER’S COMPENSATION COURT

James C. Welsh retired Supervising Judge of Compensation, has joined Brady Reilly & Cardoso of Kearny as head of the Workers’ Compensation Department. Judge Welsh has more than forty-three (43) years of experience in handling workers’ compensation cases with the last twenty-two (22) as a Judge of Workers’ Compensation in Essex and Hudson counties. At retirement he was the Supervising Judge in Hudson County. He has received various awards from the Hudson County Bar Association including:

May 3, 2006 – For commitment to Fair and Legal Treatment to Petitioners and Respondents Alike;

September 24, 2010 – He received the Hon. Louis J. Camisa Award of Merit for Lifetime Achievement in the Administration Of Justice; and on

October 8, 2014 – For Recognition of 21 years of Service To Hudson County as a Workers Compensation Judge Whose Humor, Wisdom, Compassion & Fairness Benefited Everyone.

Welsh will be overseeing the Workers’ Compensation practice and working with Steven Hummell to better serve firm clients. Prior to his service on the bench, Judge Welsh had an active legal practice in Kearny where he specialized in all aspects of the legal profession. He founded the Kearny Legal Center, and spent many years representing clients in Civil, Criminal and Worker’s Compensation Courts.

In addition, Judge Welsh was the Township Prosecutor, Township Attorney, Board of Health Attorney, and Associate Counsel to the Union County Welfare Board. He spent 13 years on the Township Committee of Hillside, having served as Mayor, Public Works Commissioner and Fire and Police Commissioner. He also served as the Chairman and Vice-chairman of the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Kathleen Reilly Named Civil Lawyer of the Year for Hudson County

The Hudson County Bar Association, Civil Practice Committee named Kathleen M. Reilly of Brady Reilly & Cardoso as the Civil Lawyer of the Year for 2014. Ms. Reilly was honored at the Hudson County Bar Association Practice Awards Dinner held December 3, 2014 at the Liberty House Restaurant, Jersey City. The award was bestowed on Ms. Reilly in recognition of her distinguished service in the practice of Civil Law. Ms. Reilly received the award surrounded by members of her firm, the judiciary and her family as well as many fellow members of the trial bar.

A certified civil trial lawyer, Ms. Reilly heads the firm of Brady Reilly & Cardoso LLC located in Kearny. Ms. Reilly is a graduate of Rosemont College and Seton Hall University School of Law. She has been practicing litigation in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey since 1983. Ms. Reilly specializes in the handling of serious personal injury and death claims including but not limited to automobile negligence, dangerous products, premises liability, liquor liability, dog bites and slip/trip and falls

Brady Reilly & Cardoso, LLC is pleased to announce that Kathleen M. Reilly was recently designated a Certified Civil Trial Lawyer by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. The designation was awarded to Ms. Reilly based upon her experience, education, knowledge and skill in civil trial law. Ms. Reilly joins her partner, Lawrence P. Brady as a Certified Civil Trial attorney. “Certified Trial Attorney” is a designation granted by the New Jersey Supreme Court to attorneys who are able to demonstrate sufficient levels of experience, education, knowledge and skill in civil trial practice. Ms. Reilly had to pass a written examination and be recognized by her peers as having sufficient skills and reputation in the area of civil trial.

Selected As One Of The Top 50 Women Lawyers In New Jersey

Brady Reilly & Cardoso is pleased that partners Lawrence P. Brady and Kathleen M. Reilly have once again been named New Jersey Super Lawyers. The firm especially congratulates Kate Reilly on being named one of the top 50 women lawyers in the state. Focusing her practice in personal injury litigation, Katie has been handling serious personal injury claims in the courts of New Jersey since 1983. She is a familiar face in the Hudson Court House where her successes include a $6 million verdict in a construction accident case as well as a $1.2 million verdict in a case involving a bicyclist hit by a limousine. Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney and a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Katie ‘s successes in the courtroom also include hundreds of settlements and arbitrations. She is a past President of West Hudson Bar Association, a member of the American Association for Justice, American Association for Justice Top 100 Trial Lawyers and the Hudson County Bar Association.
