Pleasantville, NJ – Officer Injured in Car Crash at Main St IntersectionNew Jersey Legal News
Pleasantville, NJ (September 10, 2019) – On Monday, September 9th, a police officer was injured in a car crash at the intersection of Main Street and Windsor Avenue.
According to police, the officer’s patrol car was struck by a driver who failed to yield the right-of-way at the intersection. The officer had been heading through with his lights and sirens activated, headed to an emergency call.
The driver came up to the intersection and attempted a left turn without yielding the right-of-way and entered directly into the officer’s line of travel. The vehicle struck the passenger’s side of the patrol car. This caused the patrol car to leave the road and run into a pole.
The driver of the SUV that struck the patrol vehicle was identified as a 22-year-old. The officer and the driver of that vehicle were both hospitalized, although the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
Police say charges are pending and their investigation is ongoing at this time.
