Phillipsburg, NJ – Man Killed in Fatal Crash on Interstate 78 Identified

Phillipsburg, NJ (May 24, 2019) – On Friday, around 8:45 a.m., a vehicle and a truck collided, causing a fatal crash that took the life of one man. The accident was so severe that the victim’s car was pushed under the back of a tractor-trailer.

The man whose life was taken in this accident has since been identified as 40-year-old Oliver Mackey. The accident took place on I-78 near Clinton Township, according to police.

Police are still investigating the circumstances leading up to this serious crash that caused a man’s vehicle to strike the back of a semi-trailer. There had been an 18-month-old in the vehicle at the time as well, who was taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to recover.

Authorities have confirmed that the driver of the truck was not injured and the accident closed down the road for several hours.

The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
