North Plainfield, NJ – Man Killed in Five-Vehicle Crash on Route 22New Jersey Legal News
North Plainfield, NJ (June 11, 2019) – Police confirmed that a 31-year-old man was killed in a five-vehicle crash that took place on Route 22 yesterday afternoon, June 10th.
The man has since been identified as John Melo, of Clifton, who was pronounced dead after the accident that took place around 1 p.m. Police say that Melo struck a vehicle that was stopped in the center lane of the highway. He then lost control and struck multiple vehicles in the left lane and came to a stop on the other side of the road.
Some of those involved in the accident included a 73-year-old, 45-year-old, and a 54-year-old. None of them were badly hurt but some were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
