Newark, NJ – Two Females Seriously Injured in Hit and Run Pedestrian AccidentNew Jersey Legal News
Newark, NJ (March 25, 2019) – Police responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident where two young women were seriously injured and a driver fled the scene following the crash.
A witness spoke with police who had been walking with the women just moments before the accident happened. The witness said that they were critically injured and one of the women’s legs was completely broken with the bone outside her leg.
The accident took place in front of the North End Bar and Grill in Newark. The women, according to the witness, had been celebrating an event at the bar before they left. Allegedly, the driver who struck them passed a vehicle at a red light as they were crossing the street.
Those at the scene of the accident said that speeding is frequently a problem on that roadway.
The accident took place around 2 a.m. and the pedestrians could clearly be seen crossing the street in that area. Now, they remain in critical condition at the hospital.
Police believe that the driver was in a Toyota Rav4 at the time and are still investigating the accident.
Our heartfelt thoughts and well wishes are extended to the women who were injured in this accident. We hope that they receive speedy recoveries following this horrific crash.

Every year across the U.S., up to 4,000 people will lose their lives in serious pedestrian accidents that take place at the hands of negligent drivers. In hit-and-run accidents, another layer is added to these crashes when drivers are unable to pick out who struck them and wonder how they can move forward with a claim. Unfortunately, these accidents happen far too often every year, as pedestrians are offered very few protections from harm.
