Newark, NJ – Firefighter Injured Responding to Fire on N 6th St

Newark, NJ (April 3, 2020) – A firefighter was injured while responding to a fire on Thursday, April 2nd, in Newark, New Jersey. The accident occurred at a residence located at the 200 block of North 6th Street. The Newark Fire Department responded to the scene at around 9:25 p.m. 

According to initial reports, a fire broke out at a two-and-a-half story home, for unknown reasons. Crews fought the flames as they grew from the basement to the upper floors of the house. Firefighters were able to abate the blaze after an hour and a half. 

Unfortunately, one fire was injured at the scene and transported to a nearby medical facility. An investigation into the incident is currently in progress.
