Carlstadt, NJ – Man Struck & Killed On Washington Ave

Carlstadt, NJ (January 2, 2020) – A gas station worker was hit while leaving his place of work in Carlstadt, New Jersey on Monday evening, December 30th. The crash took place on Washington Avenue at around 6:45 p.m. Authorities reported that the deceased victim, identified as Abdul Ahad, 55, of Paterson, New Jersey, was hit while attempting to board an NJ Transit bus. 

According to initial reports, the bus stopped to pick up Ahad.  Ahad was attempting to cross the street to get on the bus when a Dodge Charger that was traveling northbound on Washington Avenue hit him. The driver of the Dodge Charger remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No charges have been levied at this time.

An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
