Alpha, NJ – 2 Workers Hit By Tractor-Trailer On I-78New Jersey Legal News
Alpha, NJ (January 16, 2020) – Two workers were injured after being struck by a tractor-trailer early Wednesday morning, January 15th, in Alpha, New Jersey. The crash occurred on I-78 EB (Phillipsburg-Newark Expressway) at around 4 a.m. when the truck struck the two workers who were outside their vehicles on the shoulder of the roadway. New Jersey State Police responded to the crash to render aid to the injured parties.
According to initial reports, the tractor-trailer struck a construction vehicle and the two pedestrians. One injured worker had to be transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital. The company the victims worked for isn’t known at this time.
The driver who hit the workers remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. An investigation into the crash is being handled by NJSP.
